WELCOME TO MAKINTHEBACON.COM
The owner and founder of MakintheBacon. I have always been a writer and blogging has helped rekindle that passion for writing.
I’m also an introvert. But I didn’t let that stop me from taking risks to create the freedom and lifestyle I desired. In 2015, I quit a steady government job that I had been working in for the past four and a half years. I wasn’t happy there and knew that something had to be done. Having a blog provided me with a brand new skill set that I could showcase to potential employers. I eventually landed a tech related job with no formal education and experience.
Now I work as a business and blog strategist that aims to help small business owners increase their potential to make more bacon through blogging, branding and social media. I believe in teaching them and empowering them with tools and strategies they can use to create more awareness about their business.
MakintheBacon began in 2012 as a personal finance/lifestyle blog. It’s updated mission statement is to provide new bloggers, small business owners and companies the unique insight needed to create and build their online presence. Starting a blog and/or small business can be overwhelming. With a blog, it’s important to focus on the quality of content and to be consistent about it. Not only that, there are many other things to take into consideration such as what plugins to use, backing up your site and promoting your content.
As a small business owner, you are wearing many different hats and constantly juggling priorities. Everyone has a website for their business, but not everyone is using it effectively to engage with their current customer base and to reach out to their potential customer base.
I wear the online visibility hat for you, providing you with strategies on how to promote your business in a unique and authentic way. I possess almost 5 years of blogging, WordPress and social media management experience. I have partnered with several small businesses as an influencer marketer. I have empowered new bloggers to find their voice and give them the encouragement and support needed to navigate the uncharted territory. Read what they had to say about working together here.
